Why Buy Used?

We started buying, fixing up, and selling used bikes because we want to get as many people onto good bikes as possible. If you’re a new road cyclist and you want a way “in” without throwing down the cash for a brand new road bike, a used road bike will be half the cost—or even less. If you’re looking for a utility bike for commuting, a bike you can ride year round to work or the grocery store, nothing holds up like a quality steel 90s mountain bike. You may still find that new department store bikes can be a little cheaper than our used bikes. There are a few reasons why.

1. We buy our used bikes from our customers at fair prices.
2. We only buy bike shop quality bikes whose components, frame materials, design, and durability are all superior to the department store option.
3. A department store bike is hastily put together by a worker who has been told to assemble as many bikes as quickly as possible. These machines often require costly service right away—and they’re made so cheaply that you could easily pour the whole value of the bike into service, and still have a bike that just doesn’t work.
4. Every used bike we sell receives a detailed and thorough tune up, which includes wheel truing, wheel hub adjustments, shifting and brake adjustments, replacement of worn parts, fresh greasing of bearings, cleaning, and more.
